Interest Rates and the Best Travel Credit Card

When it comes to naming or selecting the best travel credit card, arriving at a specific answer can be somewhat difficult because different consumers have different tastes and different expectations. In other words, what might be the best travel credit card for one person may prove to be a mediocre travel credit card for another person…and vice versa. However, if there was a certain baseline standard for what comprises the best travel credit card it would certainly have to be the interest rate.
That is to say, the entire purpose of acquiring a travel credit card is to save money and receive rewards. If you are paying an outrageous amount of interest then you are not getting any sort of a special deal. For example, if you have a “non travel rewards” credit card and are paying 9% interest and no annual fee there would be no logic in using a travel rewards card that has a 29% interest rate and a $100 annual fee. The reason is that whatever free tickets the rewards card offered may already be paid several times over in terms of outrageous interest. Clearly, the words “outrageous interest” and “best travel credit card” do not exactly go hand in hand.

So, if one is truly looking for the best travel credit card one needs to look for a card that offers fair and competitive interest rates and fees and not for a gimmicky card that attempts to offset its rewards with unfair interest rates, fees, terms, conditions, etc. To put it mildly, such a practice is subterfuge and not an honest attempt to prove the public with the best travel credit card available. If you are in the market for the best travel credit card, look at all the costs associated with the card. When you find the one that offers the fairest deal then you have definitely located the best travel credit card.
